I think every person who wants to travel or is planning to travel abroad should have the knowledge of VISA, it's like TRAVEL-101!!!
Lets get started!
What is VISA?
Yes, what is VISA? and why is it so important to carry while traveling internationally?
VISA as defined by every other dictionary is:
A conditional authorization granted by a territory to a foreigner, allowing them to enter, remain within, or to leave that territory.
In simple words guys,
It's a country's (you are traveling to) way of saying "Yes, we allow you to be here".
Types of VISA?
1. Tourist Visa - For pleasure and holidaying purposes
2. Immigration and Naturalization Visa
3. Student Visa
4. Business or Work Visa
In today's blog I will be explaining about Travel VISA only.
What is a Travel/Tourist VISA?
Travel visas allow the traveller to enter a foreign country for touristic and leisure purposes only and stay for a predetermined amount of time.
Travel visas do not entitle the holder to work or engage in any business activities in the host country.
Purpose of VISA?
VISA is an official document that permits a traveller/individual to legally travel to the country of choice during the dates stated on the visa.
Who issues VISA?
VISA can be issued by one's respective Embassy or can be applied on official tourism site of country, one is traveling to or by any travel agent depending upon the type of VISA one has applied for.
In what form is VISA issued?
VISA is not a booklet or something like Passport it is a paper document issued by embassy or travel agent.
Remember - Don't Forget:
An Immigration Officer at the Port of Entry or at airport in case of VISA-on-Arrival has the authority to grant or deny admission, and to decide on the duration a person may remain in the respective country they are traveling to.
So it is necessary to have following documents with you to avoid this uncertain situations:
1. Passport issued by one's country.
2. Valid return flight tickets.
3. Enough funds to support yourself.
4. Valid proof of your hotel stay.

How long does it take for VISA to Process?
After submitting the VISA application, it may take about few days or a week or 3-4 weeks for VISA to get issued as it depends upon the country you visiting and the documents you have submitted.
E.g.:
1. It takes about a week for UAE VISA to get issued.
2. It takes about almost a month for U.S visa application to be processed and issued by embassy.
For more information on this, one can always get back to their respective travel agents or embassy for the time period.
How long do Visas last?
VISA's can be issued for a week, a month or for 3-6 months again it depends upon how long the duration of trip you have organised.
