Today's blog is going to be a bit different from what I usually post, travel ofcourse, most of you might not be knowing that today is World Mental Health Day, it is observed every year on 10th of October to create awareness about mental health issues around the world.
Mental health is not a disease or just stress, it is something that eats you up every day, every night making your lifestyle unhealthy and your mind torpid.
As per the latest surveys and studies it has been discovered that, out of 4 there is atleast one person said to be dealing with mental health issues while in children the ratio is 1:10.
Mental health crisis can be difficult for some individuals as it leads to trust issues, not able to maintain relationships, abstruse working behaviour and can be exhausting to keep up with daily chores and routine. Mental health can affect your mood, thinking and behaviour.
Most common mental health disorders that are common among people are anxiety disorder, clinical depression, eating disorder, bipolar disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, personality and psychotic disorders. Mental health is not gender specific it can happen to anyone.
P.S: Everything can be cured with some extra love, care and patience. You are not alone.
If you are dealing with mental health issues, follow these simple steps to make yourself comfortable with your inner self.
1. Write down your train of thoughts.
2. Give a close look and identify the cause of problem.
3. Write down solutions, be it stupid, silly, dumb, smart, you never know which one will work for you.
4. Now try working on your problems with your own solutions till you succeed.
5. Remember, where there's a will, there is a way.
P.S: Make sure you keep a note of your progress and when you overcome your issues do share it with people around you to inspire them with your story.
Five Things you need to do RIGHT NOW to keep your mental health happy!!!!!!
1. LET THEM GO. Cut off people who take away your beautiful smile from your face, you don't need them, you are better off without these people. Be it your closed family member or bff or bf/gf, just let them go. Love yourself. You don't need toxic relationships or any kind of negative vibes around you.
2. STOP LISTENING. Yes stop listening to people who try to manipulate your feelings, your decisions, your emotions and desires, they are doing nothing but damaging you mentally and emotionally. Remember? You only live once, let your journey be yours, let your decisions be your own consequences, atleast you will know how well you did by trusting your instincts.
3. PRIORITISE YOURSELF. Don't be a sidekick to someone else's journey. Be the hero of your own journey. Yes, you need to prioritise yourself every time someone asks you to choose between anything, in the end it's your happiness that matters. Give yourself a treat, have a good spa, get those manicures and pedicures, get those stupid bangs even though it won't look good on you, focus on your baby beard, it's you, you can spoil yourself with little love, anytime you want.
4. YOU ARE IMPORTANT. Everyone in your life are temporary, all these people with whom you have connected well it is going to fade sometimes later if they are worthy of your relationship they will stay with you even in your ups and downs and long distances. You are the creator of your own life journey, your choices makes you who you are, there is nothing as good or bad it's all about how you want to pursue some things in life. You don't know yet but you are much worthy than those billion dollars, if there is no mental peace there is no YOU. No matter what you do in life don't forget YOU ARE IMPORTANT AND WORTH EVERY LIVING CELL IN A HUMAN BODY.
5. RESPECT YOURSELF. You need to understand, we human beings tend to make mistakes, without them we are nothing there's no meaning to life, it's like getting into an accident and not having a single scratch. Our flaws, scars defines our identity and we need to respect that about us. Don't think yourself any less of anyone, not everyone can see your struggles but you should know it's you who makes you. Also stop self criticising, love each and every part of your body, love your colour, love your scars, talk to self, you need to respect yourself no matter what others say. Every individual possess different characteristics it's okay if you don't fit, take a pride in it, respect yourself and explore other things that you can relate to.
6. NEVER GIVE UP. Even if you are standing at the dead end situation in your life, never ever I would like to repeat it again, never everrrr give up in your life. Sometimes our decisions can get us into threatening whirlpool of problems, problems which have no answers or positive side, problems we regret, that's okay, I understand deep breathing won't solve your problem here, running away can make it worse, so be a little brave, and face your problems and look out for the solutions, if you find none, make peace with your problems, try to talk it out. Communication can help us get through many tough times guys. Always face your inner demons, give a tough fight, untill you make peace with it.
Remember: Sooner or later you will get there, you need to hang a little longer, even if the wait is long it's going to be worthy of all.
Try This Too:
1. Make sure you indulge yourself into Yoga, transcendental meditation, exercise daily, have a proper diet and keep a healthy lifestyle.
2. Don't forget to talk to yourself, some prep talk to self can actually be helpful as it will let you know what's keeping you distracted and anxious.
3. Get a service dog/cat or adopt any domestic animal, yes a fur friend can change your life in many ways.
4. Please don't hesitate to ask for help, if you can't help yourself, let others help you.
What can we do as individuals to help someone who are dealing with mental issues and are in need of little patience and care?
Well sometimes, a bit is enough!
Follow these simple advices and you might save someone:
1. Provide an open and non judgemental space to talk for people with mental issues.
2. Make sure you listen without any interruptions.
3. Advise people to be socially connected as it will keep them mentally sound.
4. Encourage people with healthy lifestyle, exercises and diet.
5. Advice them to seek professional support, if needed.
Let us come together and ensure that each one of us will create awareness for the people who need help in dealing with mental health issues which will encourage them to live their life with dignity.
It's simple and won't cost a dime.
